Gaia is the ancestral Mother of all. She is life its self. She is the soul of the Earth, giving life and nourishment to all, the animals, plants, people. All her children. She is a mother, nurturer, giver of life, protector. We come from her and then we go back to her when we die. She has many names, Gaia from the Greeks, PachaMama to the Incas to name a couple. She is the first Goddess, the primeval one, the creator of all life.
In Greek mythology there was Chaos, energy waiting to take form. Gaia came along and out of the Chaos created the Earth. She became the Earth, forming the landscape, giving birth to the plants and animals. She longed for love and so created the Sky, who she mated with creating many, Time, the Fates, the Muses and the oceans, to name a few. Gaia is considered the primeval Mother of all Gods and life itself.
Gaia will help you as a loving Mother, call on her when ever you need help or advice and she will answer. Loving and gentle,, she will comfort you in your time of need.

Meditation to connect with Gaia
Sir or lie down somewhere comfortable and undisturbed. Light some incense, maybe a candle and close your eyes. Take three deep breaths and relax. Hold your intention in connecting to Gaia. You could say this in your head three times, ‘My intention is to connect with Gaia.’
Imagine you are in a forest, the birds are singing, the bees are buzzing. You can smell the earthy smell of trees and leaves. The trees are in full bloom with green leaves and there are flowers and grasses in parts. You notice a path in front of you and you start to walk it. Notice what you see when walking this path.
You eventually come to a big Oak tree and with a door way. You decide to enter it. It is dark and cool inside but you can see just about and there is a stairway going down. You walk down the stairs, going deeper and deeper into the earth. Deeper and deeper. You arrive at another door and this time knock. A voice says ‘Enter’ so you open the door and go through.
You are standing in a round room. Its dark but there is light coming from the ceiling in parts. Natural light. You can see you are deep under ground and you hear running water coming from somewhere. You have a look around. What else do you see?
You then hear the voice again ‘Welcome dear child, I am Gaia.’ You turn around and there she is. She has a loving look on her face and you feel the warmth radiating from her making you feel comfortable. You say hello and start a conversation with her.
Once you have finished your conversation, you thank Gaia and leave, through the door you came, going back up the stairs and into the forest through the Oak tree. Taking three breaths, you come back into the room.
Write down your experience. What was Gaia like? What message did she have for you? Did she answer your questions? What did she look like?
How to connect with Gaia
Here are a few ways you can connect with the Goddess Gaia.
Meditation
You can connect to Gaia through meditation either by using the one above or finding one you feel drawn to. Alternatively you can just sit, close your eyes and relax. Set your intention on connecting to her and just sit with this feeling or sensing any changes or messages you might receive. The more you practice this, the more you will feel the connection.
Sit in Nature
Sit in Nature or sit by a Tree and connect. Listen and feel the energy around you, the energy coming from the tree and any messages you might receive.
Look after a Natural Spot
Find a spot you feel needs some help or you could even just tend to your garden. Look after it by watering it, tending to its certain needs when needed and making sure its clean from trash.
Connect with the Faeries
Faeries are the spirits of Nature, so when you connect with them you are connecting to the Great Mother Gaia also.
Help the Environment
Try helping the environment in some way. This could be picking up litter from a local park or river, donating to an environmental cause or recycling.
How Gaia will help you
Gaia will be a loving Mother to you. She will protect you, advise you and help you in any way you need. She will help heal you and help you be at peace in her loving embrace. Call on her when you need advice, protection, healing, someone to talk to or simply for comfort. She will always answer your call.
