Brigid (Brigit, Bridgid or Bride) is a Celtic Goddess of healing, fertility, smithcraft, poetry, fire, hearth and home. She is the bringer of light, hope, inspiration and creativity. A triple Goddess, but mostly known as a Maiden at Imbolc, bringing the return of the light and new growth.
She is the Goddess of healing waters and there are many sacred wells and sites in Ireland that she is known to, such as Kildare.
Brigid is a daughter of the Dagna and the Morrigan and is part of the Tuatha De Danann. Married to Bres who was a Fomorian and bore a son with him named Ruadan. She was later made a Saint, Saint Brigid of Kildare and associated with the ever burning sacred fire, which burns today and is attended by priestesses.

Meditation to connect with Brigid
Close your eyes and take three deep breaths.
Hold your intention to connect with Brigid. You could say this in your head three times, ‘My intention is to connect with the Goddess Brigid.’
Imagine you are in a forest and there is a path in front of you. You walk the path through the trees taking note of what is around you and what you can see.
You come to a clearing, which has a spiral of stones in it. You decide to walk the spiral, making your way into the middle.
Once you reach the middle, you hear a voice say ‘Welcome.’
You turn around and see a beautiful woman smiling at you and she says ‘I am Brigid.’
You smile, say hello and tell her why you are there.
Still smiling she takes your hand tells you about herself. You listen and take everything in and then you ask her questions to get to know her and any message you wish to hear.
When you have finished, thank Brigid for connecting with you.
Then when you are ready, make your way back on the path to where you started. Take three deep breaths and come back to the room.
Write down your experience. What did you notice on your walk towards the clearing with the spiral in it? What was Brigid like? What did she tell you? Did she have a message for you?
